DIY Gift Jars.

Gifts in a jar have become very popular and the possibilities with these gifts are endless.
The first idea is cookie mix in a jar,you can use your favourite cookie recipe or use this oatmeal cookie recipe which yields about 24 cookies. You will need a 1 quart mason jar, start with 1 cup of all purpose flour,1/2 tsp baking soda,1/2 tsp of baking powder, and 1/2 tsp of salt ,mix all that together.Use a funnel and pour the flour mixture into the bottom of your jar.Press it down until it won’t pack anymore. On top of that put in 1 cup of rolled oats,be sure to pack each layer down. Then mix 3/4 cups of brown sugar with one1 tsp of cinnamon mix well, and spoon it on top of your oats. Then add 1/4 cup of sugar in your jar,1cup of raisins on top of your sugar,1 cup of walnuts on to of your raisins.Seal the jar and decorate with ribbon..Add your instructions to a piece of cardstock and attach to your jar.Use clear packing tape,or hole punch it ,and tie onto your jar with ribbon.Instructions:pre-heat oven to 350 F.Beat together 1/2 cup of butter,1 egg,1 tsp of vanilla, and 1 tbls spoon of milk.Add cookie mix and blend.Drop tbls rounds of dough onto ungreased cookie sheet.Bake 9-11 minutes.Enjoy!
These pictures I found have me inspired ,try homemade hot cocoa mix and put them into baggies inside your jar and add a few big marshmallows. This looks so nice.So the ingredients you need is 2 cups of non fat dry milk,3/4 cup of sugar,1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa,1/2 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips,1/2 cup of powdered non dairy creamer, and 1/8 tsp of salt.Mix until well blended.Makes 4 cups of this mix.The chocolate chips give this drink an extra rich flavour. You could also tie a spoon to the outside of your jar with ribbon.Add your instructions onto cardstock which are 3-4 tbls of cocoa mix in your cup and add boiling water and stir. You could also add some mini candy canes inside the jar.
You can add snack mixes boughten or homemade, candies layered in different colours looks really nice, homemade body scrubs try the brown sugar scrub I have posted on my blog.I love the manicure and pedicure jars just add some tissue paper to the bottom of your jar add two bottles of nail polish along with toe nail clippers.Attach a nail file to the outside of your jar with ribbon. You can add make up into the jars. You can do little sewing kits in them.As I said the possibilities are endless and inexpensive to do.
Snow globes also make neat little gifts.Just attach a christmas tree a mini one of course inside the top of your lid with hotglue, you can do this with polish, lip glosses as well glued to the inside of the lids. Then add different coloured glitter to the jar or stick with white glitter for snow then fill with water,,and attach your lid. These make cool glam gifts as they call them.
I love these ideas very neat little thoughtful gifts, but still within your budget!

Oh, I love all of these. Last year a woman gave me a soup mix for Christmas and it was all layered and pretty. I’ll have to get that recipe from her. It was so creative and pretty and easy to do. These are great too. The M&M’s and hot chocolate ones are my favorite. They look so easy to do. And who couldn’t use a mason jar? 🙂
    Cheers!
And thanks for the visit to my page!!
