There are so many options for bath toys today you can empty your wallet as fast as you can fill the tub.In place of those fancy bath crystals you can buy to colour the water, just use a drop or two of food colouring. There will be no colour left on your child. My girl’s love the pink water ,just use 2 drops of red colouring. My two boys hate to bath so I have to be creative,to get them in.Use a small basket from the dollar store or one you already have and some small light weight balls ,the nerf ones are great.Let them play basketball.Whoever gets the most in wins.If you can hang the basket off the shower makes it more interesting. I use an old muffin tin and fill each section with shaving cream ,and add a drop of colour to each one.I give them a paint brush to draw on the tiles,or practice letters and numbers with younger ones.Fill up an ice cube tray with water and add a drop of food colouring to each cube then freeze. When done the kid’s can play with coloured cubes in the tub. Younger, and sometimes older ones as well love to fill things with water and dump it.Cups, plastic dish soap bottles, measuring cup, anything plastic.I took a 2 litre bottle and made some small holes in it they fill it up and it comes out like a shower, they love this one. Use the measuring cup to teach measurements. You can buy those glow sticks ten for a dollar at dollarama.Give them a couple to play with in the water.Turn out the lights so they see the full effect of them glowing. Give them goggles and a snorkel throw a few pennies ,or toys in the water for them to dive for.So they can search for them under water. The boy,s love this one.Make homemade bubbles and let them blow bubbles in the tub,or a bubble bath sounds good.If you have jets in your tub run them a few minutes, and bubbles will fill up over the top it’s great.Just don’t leave kid’s unattended their hair can get caught in the jets. The recipe for homemade bubbles is 1 cup water,2 tablespoons of light karo syrup,or glycerin,4 tablespoons dish washing soap.Mix together, and have fun! If they still refuse the bath tell them if they are really quiet and good you will take the bath for them, and have a nice long soak.
