Cool Creepy Spider Craft.

Make this creepy spider to hang from your ceiling, and welcome your little Halloween guests. You can also try it on the front porch. This is one of my favourites,it’s so adorable.I am going to try and make one of these with the kid’s.

Start by cutting 8 pieces of black yarn about 4 inches in length each.Line a piece of cardboard with wax paper to lay your stuff on when it’s all covered in glue.

Mix 2 tablespoons of glue with one tablespoon of water and stir.Place your 8 pieces of yarn into the glue,be sure they are completely covered.Remove one piece of yarn at a time, remove excess glue with your fingers. You want them covered in glue ,you just don’t want them dripping.Place each piece of yarn on your wax paper.Set aside and let dry.

Wrap black yarn around one finger.Remove from finger and continue wrapping to make a yarn ball.Keep wrapping until the ball is about 1 inch in diameter.Cover your ball of yarn with your glue mixture, and place on wax paper, let dry.

Now you need a larger yarn ball about 2 inches in diameter.Repeat same steps as above.Allow everything to dry completely.

Then remove from the wax paper.Glue the head which is the small yarn ball to the big yarn ball which will be the body of your spider.

Then take the 8 pieces of yarn which will be the legs, and bend each piece at a 90 degree angle to create the knee.At one end of each piece of yarn bend a short piece to create a foot. Then set aside.

Using a toothpick poke a hole in the side of the spider where you want your leg to go.Remove the toothpick .Then add glue to the end of the leg and insert it into the hole you made.Repeat until you have all eight legs attached.

Glue the wiggly eyes onto your spiders face.

To cover up any wax paper that was stuck on just touch up with some black paint. If your going to hang him up tie fishing line around the body.

You can also add spots and stripes with pieces of felt glued on,if you want some colour. You can glue on another colour of yarn to make a smiling spider. Then he will look  friendlier for young ones!
